fair's fair

democracy's never been the fairest system around. no human system ever is. but what's fair? fair is when everyone feel that they've gotten what they think they deserve? then when some are not satisfied, they call it unfair? is it a sense of entitlement? fair expectation of entitlement? what's behind it? ego? pride?

i don't know.

what's right? what's best? is it necessarily what's fair?

i think? seek the higher purpose. stick to it, and heed not the human distribution of glory and power. character and soul is the only thing that is left in the afterlife. and character is not built on lofty titles and flighty achievements.

perhaps character is forged in the doldrums, and purpose sharpened and tested against the tide. what is purpose if it cannot shine through in times that seem to hold it back?

courage and commitment are inseparable. with commitment, we will find courage. with commitment to a purpose, to a cause, to the Cross, we will find the courage. If courage fails, the commitment has probably not been strong enough. if the commitment is strong enough, then courage is a necessary by product.

character, commitment, courage. that's my prayer for you.

"leadership is not about position." i wrote that down in my training proposal to schools as part of my leadership philosophy. i still stand by that. leadership will shine, position or not.

it's interesting how all the good endearing qualities of Man are the most beautiful when the odds are stacked against them.

1 Cor 13:13 "...but the greatest of these is love." and the greatest of all love is God. in Him, i shall find enough, i shall find more than enough, i shall find peace, i shall find joy. and so will you.

and that, my dear friend, is my prayer for you.
